Brazilian Government signs agreement to structure an unprecedented program for landholding regularization in the Amazon

The Brazilian government’s strategic M.A.I.S. Program supports actions in the area of public security, fighting organized crime through high-resolution satellite images. In 18 months, the system has been used in 90 operations, resulting in R$1 billion in assets seized or frozen.

The Program reached 15k registered users, from 210 federal, state and city institutions, with free access to the system. The Web Platform allows sharing of daily images from more than 130 satellites, with the goal of spreading the use of the M.A.I.S program throughout the country

This system Brasil M.A.I.S. allows identification of construction fraud, drug trafficking and, environmental crimes such as fraudulent forest management, selective logging and the early detection of fires and of irregular and illegal deforestation and mining, among others.
