The Brazilian government launched the "Safe Tourism Program" to help develop policies that make tourism in Brazil even safer.
These comprise 59 actions divided into seven axes: public security, prevention of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, consumer relations in tourism, tourist transport;,civil defense, health surveillance, and positive communication.
These actions include the mapping of specialized police stations, the creation of a systematic diagnostic of tourist security, and a panel to monitor adherence to the Code of Conduct developed by the Ministry of Tourism.
The Program's expectation is to contribute to the perception of Brazil as a safe destination, increase awareness of agents that contribute to tourist security, improve tourism consumption relations, and exchange of information between institutions regarding civil defense.
